Marty Sammon was very good friends with Southside Stevie Berek, an amazing Chicago harmonica player who joins Steam Shovel often when we are in Chi town.Stevie connceted us w Marty and Marty inviited us to join the Fling.We got him up w us on Home to Kokomo to finish out our set, and he owns it! Take a listen. Marty was the best! Marty was in Phil Guy's band for a long time. This Blues Fling was to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer in honor if Phil. He eventually joined Buddy Guy's band and things got to cooking!
He was w Buddy for 20+ years. Marty celebrated his 45th birthday with his band in New Orleans Oct 14, 2021. The next day, he was gone. Just like that. Gone. Marty was so kind and generous and will be missed greatly.
